Position of an Assistant Professor in Late Soviet and Contemporary Russian History
The Department of History at EUSP invites applications for one-year visiting assistant professorship for 2012-2013 in Late Soviet and Contemporary Russian History, focusing on the post-Stalin period.
The Department particularly welcomes applications from candidates able to situate Russian history in broader interdisciplinary or comparative contexts, and focusing on new trends in historiography and methodological approaches. Responsibilities include 2 courses at the graduate level each semester, engagement in departmental affairs, and advising PhD students on academic writing in English.
Applications should include curriculum vitae; a brief statement of research and teaching interests; names and contact information (not letters) for three people able to provide recommendations; and samples of scholarly writing and relevant syllabi. Salary is competitive, and will include a housing allowance as well as travel fund. The deadline for applications is April 20, 2012.
